    wedding dress secrets

Being the experts that we are, we know a thing or two about weddings...

Before you even find a planner or start researching your wedding, you might find yourself wanting to go wedding dress shopping.  If so, here are some wedding dress secrets you MUST know before you go.  We're counting down the 5 most important wedding dress secrets that you need to know... trust us on #1!

#5 -- They may not have your dream dress...

Bridal salons don't always have every style.  Even if they carry the designer you're looking for they may not carry the entire line.  Call ahead and most salons can have it shipped in for you.

#4 -- Keep it short and sweet

Let's just say the more people you bring to help, the more problems can occur.  Keep your group short and sweet and limit it to your closest friends or family members.

    #3 -- Bring your bra

While most salons provide different bras to accommodate different dress styles, if there is certain bra you have your heart set on wearing, just go ahead and bring it.  It won't be absolutely necessary until your first fitting but it's nice to have so you know what to expect.

#2 -- Shop for your body type

Even though you might be dieting for your big day, you need to focus less on weight and more on shape.  Find a silhouette that is flattering with features that you love.  It’ll make sure you look and feel amazing.

#1 -- Always Book an Appointment

You may just want to look and not think you need one but the best way to get the attention that you want (and need) is to book an appointment in advance.  That way you won't waste your time, or their time, and will be more likely to receive their undivided attention.

  • Engagements ~ Picking out the dress

My advice – pick a dress to fit the setting.

If you’re getting married outdoors in the heat of summer, it may not be smart to wear an ultra-formal dress with layers of tulle.  And vice-versa – a wedding in a traditional sanctuary doesn’t really scream barefoot bride and flower crown.

While I believe each bride should decide what she wears on her big day, try to envision how it will look in the venue.  The formality of the venue and event should ultimately help decide your attire on the big day.

  • Engagements ~ Callie and Philip

When our beloved Curator of Dazzle, Callie, got engaged last summer, we knew we were about to plan one of the best parties of 2015 – her wedding!

Callie and Philip were joined together in union on June 13, 2015 at St. Marks Catholic Church. While this couple never misses an opportunity to share their sense of humor and fun antics, the ceremony was a touching and special tribute to the love they share.

As guests made their way into the Molly Shi Boren Ballroom for the reception, they were met with a beautiful scene hand-selected by Callie herself. Tables were dressed in subtle shades of ivory and champagne and surrounded by Chameleon Chairs in mixed metals, while the head table and cake table glistened with ivory sequin overlays atop. Elegant floral in shades of pink (Callie’s favorite color) graced each table. Up-lighting in the same shade immersed the Ballroom and created a magical effect on the glistening mirrored bars and sequin draping throughout the room.

As the evening progressed, toasts were shared, cake was cut and the party began. A surprise appearance by Boomer created buzz and excitement, and great music had everyone dancing the night away. In true Callie and Philip fashion, every guest left with a smile on their face reminiscing the great times and memories shared that day.

We could not be more excited for our Callie and her happily ever after, and can’t wait to see what the future holds for the Pedlows!

    We love you!
